Rashad Darwish is a Palestinian candidate for the US Congress

The Palestinian community in the state of Illinois has begun preparing to support US-born Palestinian candidate Rashad Darwish for US Congressional membership from the state´s third constituency, Palestinian Congress President Maher Abdul Qader said.

Abdul Kader, former campaign director of the US Congressional Campaign, told the official agency that his meetings held in Chicago, Illinois with many leaders of the Palestinian and Arab community, businessmen and professionals, have achieved success in providing a material cover and support for the campaign of Darwish, East of the city of Ramallah to win the membership of Congress.

He added that many businessmen have expressed their willingness to participate in campaigns at the level of the United States to raise funds to support the campaign Darwish, and also collaborated during the campaign Rachida Tlaib to be the first member of the Congress of Palestinian origin.

Abdelkader appealed to members of Arab and Palestinian communities to vote in the elections and to support Democratic candidate Rashad Darwish in front of his rival, current Congressman Dan Lebinski.

Abdelkader said Darwish´s chances of winning were good after his opponent´s popularity had declined in recent years, with only 51% of the votes in the previous election.

It is noteworthy that the Palestinian community constitutes about 18% of the population of the third circle, and is a heavyweight in the institutional work, especially after the victory of Rachida Tlaib, which was an incentive to work and activate the community in the States.
