The month of August 2018 saw a decline in the total number of violations (Israeli and Palestinian) against media freedoms in Palestine, compared to the month July preceding it, which remained at high and dangerous rates.
A total of 45 violations against media freedoms were monitored and documented during August month by the Israeli occupying forces and authorities, most of them (34 of them), while a total of 11 violations were committed by various Palestinian actors, with a record number of 68 violations committed by the previous month of July Occupation 60 attacks.
Apparently, the relative decline in the number of violations recorded in August is due mainly to the decrease in the wave of public events in the field, which is usually accompanied by repression of demonstrators and the media coverage they cover, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
