During the past week, the Israeli occupation authorities prevented 25 Palestinian citizens from travelling outside the occupied territories through the "Karama" crossing, the only outlet that connects the West Bank to the outside world through Jordan.
Palestinian police said in a statement on Saturday that the occupation had returned 25 Palestinians from the Karama crossing last week and prevented them from travelling under the pretext of "security reasons", without explaining what the reasons were.
The police indicated that 34,000 passengers were transported through the "Karama" crossing during the same period, and that the movement of passengers during this period was "average".
During the past week, the Palestinian police stationed at the crossing had arrested 48 wanted persons, both criminal and non-travel, while attempting to leave or enter the West Bank through the Karama crossing, she said.
In the same statement, the Palestinian police reported that the detainees were "wanted" in cases brought against them before the Palestinian courts, with different divisions.
After its occupation of the bank and Gaza, it established a crossing point to Jordan, known as the "King Hussein Bridge " or "Dignity crossing" (according to the Arabic label), and the "Allenby Bridge " (Hebrew label), where it is (55 km west of Amman), and is allocated to the movement of the West Bank mainly.
Another crossing point was the "Sheikh Hussein " Bridge, 90 kilometres north of Amman, as a commercial crossing, which was later allocated to the passage of "Israelis" and foreign tourists, in addition to the "Israeli" identity campaign from the Palestinians of the occupied interior.
