The Islamic Christian Commission warned today, Wednesday, to support Jerusalem and the holy sites, against the escalation of the forced displacement campaign practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against Bedouin communities in the suburbs of Jerusalem.
The commission said in a statement: "Dozens of notices that were distributed to Bedouin families, them to leave and evacuate their homes, constitute a dangerous and systematic escalation in the policy of ethnic cleansing."
She stressed that these notifications, which coincide with an campaign of land grabs, house demolitions, and the construction of thousands of settlement units, confirming the occupation´s quest to expand its open war on the city of Jerusalem with all its components.
The commission pointed out that the occupation authorities crossed all the red lines in their practices against the Palestinians, and became accelerating in order to change the demographic character of the Holy City and impose the Jewish character on it through force.
It called on the international community to move and take effective measures and steps stipulated in international law and the Geneva Conventions to protect civilians from deportation and forced displacement from their lands.
The Commission called on all responsible Palestinian authorities to provide all elements of support and material and legal support to the targeted families, in order to enable them to withstand and thwart the scheme to deport them from their homes.
