The social media website (Facebook) said on Friday that hackers were able to access data for 29 million accounts on the site as part of the security breach revealed two weeks ago.
Hackers have access to 15 million username and contact details either through their phone numbers or through their email addresses or both, depending on the information in their profile.
In a statement, the site (Facebook) added that 14 million other users had access to their names and contact details as well as other details about their personal files.
This breach allowed hackers to take advantage of a weak point in access codes that keep users in a state of contact.
Overall, the access codes for some 90 million users have been reset as part of the Facebook response to the security breach.
