Popcorn Times is a new website for viewing thousands of movies for free

A website has been launched that allows watching thousands of cinematographic films produced over 100 years ago for free, without even having to create an account for the user who wants to watch these films.

The only thing that Pop Corn Times dotTV users will have to endure while watching movies is the appearance of commercials that are the source of the site’s income.

This site provides its services to users in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, where the site operators obtained a broadcasting license in only three countries. However, any user from outside the three countries can access the site by using the "virtual private network" technology (VPN) that allows the user to deal as if he were accessing the site from one of the three countries.

The German website says it is trying to expand into other markets "We are constantly expanding our presence in various countries."

The site displays classic films shot from 1910 to 2010. At the same time, PopCorn Times considers itself a film archive that helps productivity and movie rental companies by converting old movies into digital copies and archiving them.

The site also offers many films that are difficult or impossible to find, such as "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" or the films of unique international director Hitchcock and Buster Keaton. The site also displays the cartoons "Superman" produced in the 1940s.
