On Thursday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the Chinese consulate in Houston, Texas, as closed by the United States as a "center of Chinese espionage" and "for theft of intellectual property."
In a speech delivered by the library of former US President Richard Nixon in California, Pompeo said, "This week we closed the Chinese consulate in Houston because it was a hub for spying and stealing intellectual property."
"China has plundered our intellectual property and precious trade secrets, resulting in millions of jobs lost across America," he added.
Pompeo called the "free world" to triumph over the "new tyranny" practiced by Communist China, stressing that Washington and its allies should use "more creative and assertive ways" to pressure the Communist Party of China to change its ways, describing it as "the task of our time."
Pompeo added in the symposium titled "Communist China and the Future of the Free World", that "the free world must triumph over Chinese tyranny," explaining: "If we want the 21st century to be free, not the Chinese century that Xi Jinping dreams of, the model The old from blind dealing with China, we should not go back to it. "
Pompeo accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of being a "loyal follower of a totalitarian bankrupt ideology", speaking of communist ideology.
Pompeo´s comments came in light of the strained relations between Washington and Beijing, and the latest episode in this dispute was the inclusion of 11 Chinese companies in the sanctions list, for its role in the violations against the Muslim Uyghur minority in the western province of Shenyang.
The State Department announced in a statement last week that the United States would prohibit the entry of visas to some of the employees of Chinese telecom company Huawei into its territory, which Washington accuses of spying for Beijing.
"We have talked in particular about the violations of the Communist Party of China for Human Rights, which are among the worst in the world," said the foreign statement, of which Jerusalem received a copy.
Washington, London and a number of Western capitals are opposed to the strict national security law that China imposed in late June on Hong Kong, which raised concerns about freedoms in the former British colony.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also said in its statement on Friday that the speech of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on China reflects his disregard for reality and his ideological bias.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in his statement that China urges the United States to move away from the "cold war mentality."
