Pompeo warns of the presence of foreign forces in Libya

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed concern about the presence of foreign forces in Libya, during a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Cawushoglu, who is one of the countries that have deployed forces in that country in North Africa. "The foreign minister expressed his concern over the involvement of a foreign military in the conflict," said US State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagos, after Pompeo met Ceausogluoglu in Berlin on the sidelines of a conference on Libya.

In the past, US State Department officials have called more directly to end the presence of foreign forces in Libya. Pompeo also held talks with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, another country involved in the Libyan conflict.

And the German capital Berlin is hosting a conference to discuss the settlement of the crisis in Libya, which has witnessed since last April fighting between the forces of the internationally recognized agreement and the forces of eastern Libya led by Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter seeking to enter the capital Tripoli.
