US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday he had taken part in a telephone conversation between President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelinsky, who had been at the heart of the impeachment measure.
Democrats on Trump´s request from his Ukrainian counterpart during a telephone conversation two months ago are taking an investigation into Democratic candidate Joe Biden, who may be his rival in the presidential election in 2020.
"I was involved in the call," Pompeo told a press conference in Rome with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Mayo.
Pompeo has been formally requested by three congressional committees to provide them with the necessary documents.
