US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on Egyptian authorities to respect press freedom after a crackdown that followed protests.
"We call on the Egyptian government to respect the freedom of the press and the release of journalists," he told a news conference after reiterating his harsh criticism of Iran´s crackdown on protesters and Internet access restrictions.
