Paris will recognize Guido as president of Venezuela unless elections are announced within eight days

French President Emmanuel Macaron has called for eight days of elections in Venezuela.

McCron told Twitter on Saturday that if not, France could recognize the speaker Juan Juan Guido as the "responsible president" of the country.

"The Venezuelan people must be able to decide their own destiny freely," McCron said, noting that his country was coordinating with European partners on the crisis in Venezuela.

Guido, who was in conflict with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, announced another demonstration this week.

Guido declared himself to be the transitional president of the country on Wednesday, and Maduro was no longer legitimate.
