Palestine´s representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour announced the imminent completion of an official protest note on threats to the Israeli "occupation" of President Mahmoud Abbas in his assassination, the storming of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, and the assault on national institutions, especially the agency "WAFA ".
The official news agency quoted Mansour as saying that the note would be forwarded to the President of the Security Council and then to the Security Council through the President, and to the Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly by the Palestine Mission to the United Nations, to ask the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in this regard.
Mansour revealed a meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in New York on Thursday to assess the experience of the US draft resolution condemning the Palestinian resistance, which failed in the UN General Assembly, in preparation for any new attack by the US administration against UN resolutions.
For his part, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian home, the preacher of the Al-Aqsa mosque, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, warned of the repercussions of inciting the Israeli "occupation" authorities against the person of President Mahmoud Abbas.
In a press statement today, the general Mufti described these threats as "the crime against the Palestinian head of legitimacy, the symbol of its sovereignty, which stands firm in the face of attempts to pass the suspicious deal of the century", stressing that "the occupation authorities are targeting in their racist and fascist designs everything that is Palestinian."
The Mufti "The occupying government and the settlers bore full responsibility for fuelling the situation in the entire region, which would lead to uncontrollable scourges."
The Mufti condemned the "repeated incursions into Palestinian territory and government institutions, foremost of which was the storming of the Wafa agency," stressing that "this attack is aimed at silencing the free Palestinian voice, which reveals the crimes of occupation, exposing them to the world."
