Palestine´s ambassador to Russia: The first batch of Corona vaccines will arrive in the West Bank within two days

 The Palestinian ambassador to Russia, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, announced today (Friday) that the first batch of new coronavirus vaccines will arrive in the West Bank within two days.

Abdel Hafeez Nofal said that a batch of the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine will start arriving in the West Bank within two days as a Russian grant to Palestine.

Nofal said that the Russian grant of five thousand doses will arrive, while the Palestinian Authority will start talks to receive a second paid payment, including 100,000 doses, to arrive within the next month.

This comes as the Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Keela, announced that 11 deaths, 575 new cases of Corona disease, and 520 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.

In the ministry´s daily report, Al-Kailah stated that 8 deaths were recorded in the West Bank and 3 in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the health conditions of the injured, Al-Kailah reported that 64 patients were in intensive care rooms, including 20 patients on artificial respirators.

Thus, the death toll in the Palestinian territories from Corona disease rises to 2001, while the death toll rises to 17,8001, of whom 166,961 recovered, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the complete closure in the Palestinian territories continues today, as part of the tightening of preventive measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

A curfew has been imposed in the West Bank and Gaza since this morning, to continue until the morning of tomorrow (Sunday), with the exception of allowing pharmacies and bakeries to operate for the eighth week.

Yesterday, the Palestinian government announced the closure of the "Karama crossing" for a week, as part of measures to combat the new strain of Corona disease.
