Palestine wins membership of the Human Rights Committee of the Arab League

The State of Palestine on Thursday won nine votes in the membership of the Arab League´s Human Rights Committee.

The State of Palestine will be represented in this committee by Counselor Majdi Hardan of the Ministry of Justice.

Based on this membership, Palestine will be required to report on the human rights situation, in particular violations of human rights by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The mandate of the elected members of the Commission on Human Rights will begin on Friday, for a period of four years.
