Minister of National Economy Khaled Al-Esseily and the Russian delegation visiting Palestine headed by the Director of Legal Affairs and International Activities at the Russian Ministry of Labor Zbruzvanich Anastasia on Thursday discussed mechanisms to increase the volume of trade exchange between Palestine and Russia, and facilities for importing materials. The two sides stressed the importance of convening the joint committee in strengthening economic cooperation relations between the two countries and building economic partnerships between the Palestinian private sector and its Russian counterpart, especially that agreements will be signed between Palestinian and Russian partnerships and factories.
Al-Osaily expressed his gratitude for the support of the Russian government to the Palestinian people and the economy. Three agreements are signed in the fields of customs and information exchange, in addition to an agreement with the Palestinian Businessmen Union.
The meeting, which was held at the ministry´s headquarters, dealt with areas of joint cooperation that will be discussed in the meetings of the joint governmental committee.
The delegation is scheduled to carry out a field tour of the Russian Rehabilitation Center in Birzeit, in addition to a tour of the Jericho Agricultural Industrial City, where the factories operating in this city will be acquainted.
The visit will include meetings and field visits in the presence of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry to a number of Palestinian companies to identify the activities carried out and discuss possibilities of joint cooperation.
