On the anniversary of Balfour ... a stand in support of the Palestinian right in Nablus

The forces and factions of national action in Nablus governorate yesterday organized a pause to support the Palestinian right on the 103rd anniversary of the issuance of the Balfour Declaration.

The participants in the stand that took place in the Martyrs Square raised Palestinian flags and banners affirming the adherence to the Palestinian right and demanding Britain to apologize for the Balfour Declaration.

The Vice President of Fatah, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, said that the Palestinian people are steadfast on their land and adhere to their rights and constants, and they have no choice but to hold out and face the occupation.

He stressed that the United States is a partner in the crime of the Balfour Declaration, indicating that the policies of the United States over the long years are all directed towards implementing this promise at the expense of the Palestinian people and their rights.

For his part, former Arab member of the Knesset, Issam Makhoul, said that the Balfour Declaration carried another component, which is preventing the Palestinian people from their right to self-determination, because this represents the antithesis of imperialism and the Zionist project on the land of Palestine.

He emphasized that the Balfour Declaration did not end with the establishment of Israel and the plight of the Palestinian people, rather it continues as long as there is occupation and as long as the Palestinian people are deprived of self-determination, the establishment of their state, and their freedom on their land.

In a speech to the people of Jerusalem, Taher Al-Disi stressed the unity of the Palestinian people, no matter how the occupation tries to tear it apart or separate the parts of the homeland from each other.

He expressed the Jerusalem people’s rejection of the Balfour Declaration, which will remain null and bear no effect, and called for the speedy achievement of national unity, an end to the division, and the unification of all efforts to defend Jerusalem.
