"The year 2019 is a year of" abuse and repression "of prisoners, and the year of arbitrary detention campaigns against the Palestinians, as part of the policy of collective punishment practiced by the occupation forces against them," said the media spokesman for the center, Riyadh Al-Ashqar.
He pointed out that more than 200 prisoners were injured and some of them were crushed due to their repeated repression inside prisons.
Regarding the arrests, he indicated that Jerusalem had the largest share, in which 1930 citizens were arrested, while Hebron ranked second with 850 arrests.
He pointed out that among the total number of children arrested, there are 84 children under the age of 12, and in a dangerous precedent, a case of arrest of the child Nader Hejazi from Balata camp, who is not more than 3 years old, was recorded.
He indicated that, out of the total number of women arrested, 12 were minors and two wounded, and there were elderly women, university lectures and journalists.
Seven arrests were monitored during the year by members of the Legislative Council, along with 1,400 released prisoners, and 152 arrests of patients and people with special needs, some of whom suffer from psychological and physical disabilities.

Administrative decisions extended to women, children and representatives of the Legislative Council, where administrative orders were issued against 4 children and 4 women, and 32 prisoners went through individual hunger strikes in protest against their administrative detention, and their strike periods ranged between two weeks to 4 months.
