Netanyahu decides to visit Chad to announce resumption of diplomatic relations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday decided to visit Chad to meet with President Idriss Deby to resume diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to Netanyahu´s office, he will visit Chad in the coming days with the aim of renewing diplomatic ties.

It followed Netanyahu´s gathering with Deby in Jerusalem to discuss bilateral cooperation, including agriculture, solar energy and others.

Netanyahu said at the end of the meeting that Chad was an important African country. He expressed satisfaction with the resumption of friendly relations between the two countries.

"There are many common issues of interest to the two countries, including the fight against terrorism," he said. He noted that he had discussed with the President of Chad the changes in relations between Israel and the Arab world.
