Houston Rockets superstar and one of the NBA´s top scorer Russell Westbrook donated 650 computers to children in need, as schools closed due to a new Corona virus outbreak.

"The generous gift from the Russell Westbrook WayNet Foundation will allow us to significantly increase our stockpile and ensure that we can continue to bridge the gap for the neediest Houston families," said Colin Dempsey of Comp-You-Doubt.
"One out of every three economically disadvantaged students in the Houston area lacks access to a computer at home. With the spread of (Covid-19) and the closure of schools, there is an immediate need to deliver more computers to students and families who are unable to reach them," he said.
Compu-U-Doppet has donated nearly 1,000 computers to families in Houston since March 18, with families putting their names on the draw for a device.
The Houston Mayor´s office, Sylvester Turner, said that 83 percent of students who have computers, live in families earning less than 35 thousand dollars annually.
