Nablus: 3 citizens were injured and olive trees were destroyed in the attack

Ghassan Alkotot - Three citizens were injured today by an attack by settlers on olive harvesters, while smashing hundreds of trees after stealing their fruits in the villages of Nablus.

According to Ghassan Daghlas, a settlement official in the northern West Bank, a group of settlers "Yitzhar" attacked citizens during the harvesting of olive fruits in the Hogwar area.

He said that violent clashes took place between the settlers and the residents, during which three citizens suffered bruises and injuries, including the mayor of Huwwara Nasser al-Hawari, his deputy Kamal Odeh and Mahmoud Shehadeh.

He added that the three wounded received treatment in the town clinic, and upon their return to the site, the soldiers arrested them on the grounds that there was a complaint from the settlers against them.

On the other hand, Daghlas said that settlers "Alon Moreh" smashed hundreds of olive trees in the town of Deir al-Hatab east of Nablus.

He pointed out that the people who went yesterday morning to pick olives in Ras Hazim area near the settlement, were surprised by the destruction of hundreds of trees and steal their fruits.
