Nablus: 10 youths suffocated after settlers storm the tomb of Yousef

Ten youths were suffocated by tear gas inhalation on Tuesday after clashes erupted with Israeli troops after they protested the entry of hundreds of settlers to the Maqam Yusuf in east Nablus.

The tomb of Joseph is a popular destination for thousands of Israelis, where they hold Jewish prayers and religious rituals in it as the tomb of the Prophet Joseph, the eleventh son of the Prophet Jacob, but Palestinian archaeologists say that the tomb is only a few centuries old, and that it is the shrine of a Muslim sheikh named Yusuf Dweikat.

Palestinian youths burned parts of the shrine on two occasions in October 2015 in protest at the entry of settler groups.
