Statistics issued by the General Directorate of Civil Status at the Ministry of Interior - Civil Section showed that the Gaza Strip registered 13,341 newborns during the first quarter of 2023, in addition to 1,162 deaths.
The statistics showed that the number of male births is estimated at 6,844, with an estimated rate of 51.30%, while the estimated percentage of female births was 48.69%, with 6,497 births.
She indicated that the civil status offices in the Gaza Interior Directorate had registered 4,930 newborns; The two interior offices of Khan Yunis registered 2,495 births.
The northern interior offices also recorded 2438 births during the month, and the civil status offices in the middle interior recorded 1796 births, while the civil status offices in the Rafah Interior Directorate registered 1682 newborns.
Regarding death
statistics, the Civil Status reported that its offices in the governorates of the Gaza Strip recorded 1,162 deaths during this quarter, as male deaths were estimated at 650 deaths, with an estimated rate of 55.93%, compared to 512 female deaths, with an estimated rate of 44.06%.
