Minister of Health, Mai Alkaila, stated that the Israeli occupation forces continue to intensify their crimes against our people and medical teams.
Alkaila noted in a statement issued by the ministry on Friday evening that the crimes committed by the occupation against medical teams, hospitals, and ambulances necessitate effective international intervention to stop the violations of human rights and the sanctity of medical centers and teams.
The statement also highlighted that "the Minister of Health has inquired about the health of colleague Sally Al-Bitar (37 years old), who was shot by the Israeli occupation in the chest during the incursion into the city of Jenin yesterday, Thursday."
Alkaila said, "The health condition of colleague Al-Bitar, who works as a medical laboratory technician at the Yaabad Governmental Health Center, remains critical despite stabilization."
She added, "Colleague Al-Bitar was shot by the Israeli occupation forces with a bullet that penetrated the upper right abdomen, leading to severe liver laceration, significant damage to the right kidney."
Alkaila continued, "The injured colleague was urgently admitted to the surgical department at Jenin Governmental Hospital, and after several hours of surgical intervention, the bleeding was controlled, and the right kidney was removed.
