Having been travelling among private collections for more than 200 years, he began a jewellery show in Geneva that was owned by Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France, before being put on sale at an auction on November 14 (November).
The British auction house «Sothebes» said yesterday that it expects the return of the auction to reach about 4.5 million dollars, according to Reuters. The group described by Sothebes as "one of the most important royal jewellery collections to be auctioned" is part of an exhibition titled "Royal Jewels of the Bourbon Parma Family", which also includes collections from the rich history of the legendary family.
The Queen´s jewellery collection includes a 49-carat natural pearl necklace and other diamonds, as well as necklaces and brooches (brooch) and earrings with a total value of between $1.5 million and $3 billion.
The family of the Bourbon Parma also includes a ring marked with the initials of Marie Antoinette whose base has a strand of Queen´s hair. Marie Antoinette, whose roots belong to Austria, was the wife of Louis XVI of France. After the French Revolution in 1793, they were executed by a guillotine.
After their execution, the Queen´s jewellery was concealed and smuggled from France to Vienna for safekeeping during the revolution, and remained in the possession of the Bourbon Parma family.
