Dozens of settlers from the western Negev area near Gaza, the "Karam Abu Salim" Crossing, closed on Sunday morning to prevent commercial trucks from transporting goods, foodstuffs and humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to the Hebrew public radio, the demonstrators say that Israel  "surrendered to Hamas, not calm." He noted that others had also closed a fork in the area at the Achkul settlement.

Al-Din, who is holding the Palestinian resistance as the daughter of the first lieutenant in the Israeli army  "Hadar ", who was arrested during the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2014, is taking part in the protest.

This protest is one of a series of demonstrations by settlers from the settlements near the border with the Gaza Strip, which began at the end of the last round of escalation between the Palestinian factions in Gaza and the occupation, following the failed Israeli security operation in Khan Yunis two weeks ago.

Some two weeks ago, residents of the settlements protested in Tel Aviv and closed the crowded "Azraeli " junction.

Israeli Minister Yarev Levin of the Likud party said that Israel´s aim was "to avert a large-scale military operation in Gaza and to maintain calm in the south, but if there is no choice, we will do what should be done."

"The current settlement in Gaza is a long process, from the ups and downs," Levin said in a radio interview on Sunday morning, noting that "in the Middle East, there is always a fear of something happening."

According to the Israeli radio, the possibility of "going out to a military operation in Gaza" was excluded from the army, commenting on the 10-day training of army commandos that simulated a war on the Gaza and Lebanon fronts.
