Tokyo police have discovered that an Internet user is trying to sell uranium on a Web site, NHK television reported.
A local atomic energy official had seen a suspicious sale of radioactive material at an online auction last year and told the police of the accident, the local TV channel said.
And a user plan to sell depleted uranium (a by-product of enriched uranium production from natural uranium and contains 60 percent radiation from natural uranium radiation only). Although radiation is less than natural uranium radiation, it can be dangerous to humans, and when dealing with it, safety standards must be adhered to.
Police officers arrested the "uranium seller", who admitted to re-selling uranium, which was purchased online on a foreign site. Police are still investigating the case.
