The unmanned Israeli spacecraft, Birchit, has failed to land on the moon after experiencing technical problems as it approaches the surface.
The main engine of the spacecraft is briefly disrupted. The task control center, SpaceEil, was able to restart the engine, but lost contact with the vehicle.
The mission was to be the first privately funded mission to reach the moon.
