The draft law "silencing the Adhaan ", which was approved by the Knesset on preliminary reading in March March 2017, prohibits the use of loudspeakers or the lifting of ears through loudspeakers in mosques between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The draft also proposes restrictions on the use of loudspeakers at night, and also the prohibition of daytime use if the sound exceeds that allowed under the noise act, with the value of the fine being up to 10,000 NIS.
