Israel is preparing to approve a plan to build thousands of settlement units in the West Bank, including isolated settlements

The Supreme Council for Planning and Construction of the Israeli Civil Administration is scheduled to meet next week to approve a settlement construction plan in West Bank settlements.

According to the Hebrew website Ynet, 2,200 settlement units will be approved for construction in more than one settlement throughout the West Bank, including isolated settlements, not just the major settlement blocs.

This is the first time that a construction of this size will be approved for settlers during the era of the new government.

While the seventh Hebrew channel reported that the council will convene for the first time since Joe Biden entered the US presidency, and for the first time since the formation of the Bennett-Lapid government.

This announcement coincided, apparently to please the settlers, in light of what was reported in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper website about an Israeli approval to build 1,000 Palestinian housing units in Area C.
