The so-called Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities announced, today, Wednesday, new facilities for the benefit of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
He explained that the facilities were taken after an assessment of the security situation and with the approval of the political level, according to what the Arabic-speaking Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation reported.
The facilities included expanding the fishing area to 15 nautical miles, completely reopening the Kerem Shalom crossing to bring in equipment and goods, and increasing the water share of the sector by five million cubic metres. The number of Gazan merchants allowed to pass through the Erez checkpoint will also be increased by an additional 5,000 merchants, bringing the total to seven thousand.
He pointed out that these civilian steps are conditional on the continuation of maintaining long-term security stability, as their expansion will be considered according to the assessment of the situation.
