Hundreds of people in the Gaza Strip protested Sunday to demand jobs in the face of high unemployment and continued Israeli blockade of the Strip.
The demonstration, which took place from the Memorial Park of the unknown soldier, was stopped in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour in Gaza City.
The demonstrators chanted slogans calling on the official authorities to provide job opportunities for the unemployed and university Graduates.
Talal abu-zarif, a member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the liberation of palestine, said: "today, poor families in Gaza are coming out to raise their voice in the face of the Palestinian Authority and the international community."
"we say to the authority that you must correct your policy and end the division that has transformed the Gaza Strip into a stricken area in conjunction with the siege," Abu Zarif said.
He called on the Palestinian Ministry of Labour to provide employment opportunities for "workers and university graduates " who have not yet found their opportunities in the local labour market.
Abu Zarif denounced the continued silence of the international community towards the continued imposition of the Israeli blockade for the year 12, Respectively.
The leader of the Democratic Front called on the international community to "urgently move to pressure Israel to lift its siege of gaza, and find materials to create operational projects and job opportunities for people."
More than two million people in the Gaza Strip are living in precarious and difficult living conditions, as a result of the Israeli blockade for more than a dozen years and the deteriorating economic situation, the latest of which is the suspension of United States grants and assistance to the UN Relief and Works Agency for REFUGEES/UNRWA.
