Data published by Palestinian institutions concerned with prisoners´ affairs showed that the occupation forces arrested 471 Palestinians during the month of February, including 95 children and 11 women.
This came as part of a fact sheet issued today, Tuesday, by the Prisoners and Editors Affairs Authority (affiliated to the Liberation Organization), the "Prisoners Club" (non-governmental), and the Al-Dameer Association for Prisoner Care and Human Rights (non-governmental). According to these facts, the occupation forces arrested 156 Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem, 49 from Ramallah and Al-Bireh (north), 37 from Jenin (north), 120 from Hebron (south), and 24 from Bethlehem (south). It also arrested 16 people from Nablus (north), 10 from Tulkarm (north), 25 from Qalqilya (north), two citizens from Tubas (east), and two other citizens arrested from Salfit (north), and 21 from Jericho (east), in addition to 9 citizens from Gaza strip. According to the fact sheet, as of the end of February, the number of detainees has reached around 5,000 detainees and detainees in Israeli jails. Among the detainees, she said, 180 children, 43 women, and 430 administrative detainees (without charge). The number of administrative detention orders issued reached 107, between new and renewal of prisoners previously issued with administrative detention orders.
