The unemployment rate amongst labor force participants (15 years and over) in 2019 was around 25%, while the total underemployment of employment was 33%, according to the revised International Labor Organization ( ICLS-19th) standards.

The Statistics Authority stated in the report of announcing the results of the labor force survey for 2019 that the number of unemployed people aged 15 and over reached 343,800 people last year, by 215,100 in the Gaza Strip and 128,700 in the West Bank .

According to the apparatus, the disparity in unemployment rate between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip is still great, as the rate was 45% in Gaza compared to 15% in the West Bank. As for the gender level, the unemployment rate for females reached 41% compared to 21% for males in Palestine .

The Bethlehem Governorate in the West Bank and Deir Al-Balah in the Gaza Strip recorded the highest unemployment rates among the governorates, with the Bethlehem Governorate achieving the highest unemployment rate in the West Bank about 23%, followed by Jenin Governorate 22%, while the governorates of Jerusalem and Qalqilya recorded the lowest unemployment rate of about 7% for each From them .

In contrast, Deir Al-Balah Governorate recorded the highest unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip at about 52%, followed by Khan Yunis Governorate at 49%, while Gaza Governorate recorded the lowest unemployment rate at 41 %.
