The explosives engineering crews in the police in Rafah Governorate in the south of the Gaza Strip, together with a high-explosive "MK84" bomb, were found in the House of a citizen in the province while digging a puddle of water inside the house.
"Engineering crews went home on Thursday, as soon as the signal from the central operations room was received to deal with the bomb by safe means," said Maj. Salim Madi, director of explosives engineering in Rafah, noting that the bomb was a relic of the occupation during the 2014 aggression.
He pointed out that the discoveries of remnants of the occupation are destroyed directly in order to preserve the lives of citizens and remove the danger reservoir.
Maj. Madi explained that the "American-made" multi-purpose and free-projection bomb is not directed, and is a series of American mark "80 " bombs, the most common, weighing the bomb "2039 " pounds (925 kg), of which 945 inches (429 kg) weigh the explosive material, a highly explosive charge.
