It is noteworthy that Guterres´ letter came in response to a letter sent by Aboul Gheit to him a few days ago, during which he warned of the danger of the Israeli tendencies towards exploiting the global preoccupation with confronting the epidemic "Covid-19" in order to establish a new status quo, annexing parts of the occupied Palestinian territories and declaring Israeli sovereignty over them. He called on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities and be alert to the seriousness of what the Israeli government intends to do on regional stability and security in the entire region.
