Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is heading to Washington this evening or Sunday morning to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, Trump is likely to sign a presidential order during the visit, which would recognize Washington´s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
Trump announced on Thursday that he would make the move because of the security and strategic importance of the plateau for Israel and the stability of the region.
Observers said Netanyahu would return to Israel with Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, who was released in the United States last year after serving 30 years in prison. Washington has since refused to allow him to leave the country.
Observers considered that these steps would be gifts to Netanyahu before the elections on the ninth of next month.
Netanyahu is due to deliver a speech at the AIPAC conference in Washington.
