The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed today, Thursday, that no new cases of the Corona virus were recorded.
Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Ministry in Gaza, said during the daily briefing that 231 laboratory tests had been carried out since the beginning of this week and all of its results were negative, without any injuries recorded.
And that the ministry ended the state of quarantine for 9 cases recovered from the virus, and is being followed up at home to check on their health, noting that there is no case of relapse or health developments satisfactory to those recovering.
Al-Qudra pointed out that the health in Gaza is following up with 5 HIV-positive patients present at the Isolation Hospital at the Rafah crossing.
He noted that since the middle of last month, the Ministry has pursued health care for 4,093 cases in quarantine centers, and 769 medical and police staff and support services worked on their care.
Al-Qudra pointed out that the quarantine of 2153 hosts in the quarantine centers has been terminated from the fifth of this month until today.
He indicated that there are currently 1940 hosted in 21 quarantine centers, and 389 medical personnel, police and support services provide care for them, noting that out of the total number there are 217 patients receiving direct services in the Turkish Friendship Hospital and others.
He called on all citizens to be more committed and very cautious in light of the spread of the epidemic in the region, pointing out that the ministry and government agencies from the first moment to announce the outbreak in China have taken a number of measures to protect the sector from the virus.
The ability renewed its call on the world to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip and to provide medicines, medical consumables and materials to confront the Corona virus.
For his part, Salama Maarouf, head of the government media office in Gaza, called on all institutions and bodies to exert more efforts and expand the operations of distributing food and financial aid to citizens and increase the beneficiaries in light of the failure of many citizens from their actions due to corona.
Maarouf praised the various social initiatives that help in dealing with this pandemic.
