Gaza health: the curve for severe cases of corona is increasing

Youssef El-Akkad, director of the European Gaza Hospital, said today, Saturday, that the curve of infection with Corona virus has increased significantly recently, in terms of number and quality of infections.

In statements to the Al-Aqsa local radio in Gaza, Al-Akkad pointed out that most of what arrives to the European hospital are serious cases and need intensive care.

He pointed out that the ministry in Gaza focused on supporting the European Gaza Hospital with everything necessary to confront the epidemic, pointing out that there are about 300 beds, 100 of which were allocated for intensive care.

And he indicated that patients are kept according to the nature and severity of their injuries, some stay for two weeks, some 21 days, and some are discharged within days of their improvement, whether for the Turkish Friendship Hospital or home quarantine.

Akkad mentioned that difficulty breathing is one of the dangerous symptoms for Corona patients, and in the winter season there is a mixing of citizens between seasonal flu and symptoms of Corona, so the injured may delay receiving treatment, which increases the severity of his condition, calling on every citizen who has difficulty breathing to go immediately to the nearest hospital .

He said, "The urgent need for oxygen made us increase the number of oxygen production stations from 2 to 5 stations, in addition to providing hundreds of oxygen cylinders," noting that the capacity was raised from 800 to 4000 liters per minute, which is sufficient to supply 200 beds inside the hospital, but if we had to To use the rest of the family we will have a great challenge.
