Gaza health reveals the entry of the Delta strain and the start of a third wave of Corona

Magdi Duhair, Deputy Director General of Primary Care at the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed today, Monday, the registration of infections with the mutated Delta strain of the Corona virus.

Dhuhair said in a press conference that the ministry received this morning the results of some samples, which showed that they were infected with the mutated strain, noting that there has been a steady increase in the number of infections in recent weeks.

Dhuhair confirmed that the sector entered a third wave of Corona, which seemed to be rapidly spreading and spreading within society, according to the indicators that are monitored daily, suggesting that there will be an unprecedented increase in the number of injuries in the coming weeks and a violent wave.

He pointed out that Gaza faces real risk factors that threaten the spread of the epidemic, pointing to the face-to-face education that increases mixing and crowding, in addition to the limited demand for vaccination by citizens, which contributes to the spread of the epidemic.

He pointed out that 130,000 elderly citizens, who were targeted by the vaccination campaign, received the vaccine, out of about a million and a half.

The Gaza health official stressed that the vaccine is the safe way to get out of this epidemic, calling on citizens to adopt it, in order to prevent the new wave from taking longer and to prevent the entry of a fourth wave.

Duhair reiterated that all vaccines available in Gaza are universal, safe and sound, and international studies have proven that they prevent disease.

Duhair strongly denied what was circulated that the recent deaths among young people in Gaza were the result of their taking the vaccine, noting that out of the 9 deaths, one was proven to have received the vaccine, and that was not the cause of her death.

He stressed the need for citizens to adhere to preventive health and safety measures and to take vaccinations, stressing that the Corona pandemic has not yet ended in the Gaza Strip, and this does not justify the state of inaction within service facilities, institutions and means of transportation.

For his part, Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said that the delta mutation has officially entered Gaza, and this puts the sector at a dangerous juncture, stressing that citizens will have no choice but to adhere to preventive measures in all aspects of life or seek to receive a vaccine, and this will exempt Gaza from consequences of this boom.

Al-Qidra announced a number of decisions, including stopping visits to patients inside hospitals as a whole except for exceptional cases, allowing one escort for a patient if necessary, as permitted by doctors, stopping scheduled operations within the facilities of the Ministry of Health, and obligating all those who frequent health facilities and health institutions to follow safety procedures Prevention, especially wearing a mask.

It was also decided to oblige all citizens to present the vaccination card before receiving services for non-emergency operations or interventional procedures such as endoscopy, catheterization and others.

Al-Qidra indicated that it was decided to oblige all employees in all ministries and government institutions to receive the vaccine, and the legal requirement will be taken against any employee who violates this, in addition to obligating all service providers, professions, trades, businesses and jobs that have a direct relationship with the public to receive the vaccine, as a prerequisite for continuing to practice their work.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the launch of a campaign that will start on the twenty-fifth of this month, a campaign to vaccinate the elderly over 55 years of age and over, to preserve their lives, noting that this campaign will continue for a whole month in order to vaccinate this important group and will be selected 10 names of the elderly who received the vaccine against the virus to provide a financial reward of $ 200 per person throughout the month, and this decision will include those who go to be vaccinated in UNRWA clinics, and at the end of the campaign 3 names of those who received the vaccine will be selected from the elderly to receive a financial reward It is 10,000 shekels per person.
