Deputy Director General of Primary Care at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Magdi Duhair, said today, Sunday, that his ministry is expanding its COVID-19 vaccination campaigns, at the level of the private and public sectors.
Duhair indicated in a press statement to him, that the campaign targets the pioneers of the Gaza mosques by networking and cooperating with the Ministry of Awqaf to implement the vaccination campaign against Covid 19, in order to reach a safe society.
He pointed out that the campaign is broad and has not yet ended for the target group, noting that the ministry is intensifying its efforts to provide more vaccines for all age groups 18 years and over.
He stressed that "the way to get rid of the Corona epidemic is to provide vaccines and raise the percentage of recipients of the vaccine, especially as we seek to reach the target groups, beginning with the health sectors, the elderly and those with chronic diseases, then moving down to the age groups, all the way to those over 18 years old."
"Since the advent of vaccines, the Ministry of Health has begun to develop a plan for vaccination against Covid 19, aimed at achieving complete societal immunity, which reaches 70 percent of the citizens," Dheer said.
He added, "The health has directed to expand the vaccination campaign against Covid 19, by going to the government sectors, including the Ministry of Education, the Interior and Local Government, then universities, banks, municipalities, telecommunications, electricity and other private institutions."
He explained that work is continuing to maintain a safe society through access to government institutions and others, as they provide services to citizens in general and are considered a source of transmission of infection due to direct friction between the citizen and the employee.
