Gaza Civil Defense: The Israeli aggression caused enormous damage to the infrastructure

The Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza published the highlights of the press conference of the Director General of Civil Defense, Major General Zuhair Shaheen, during a press conference held this afternoon.

The following is the text of the conference, as published by the Ministry of the Interior in Gaza:

The continuous Israeli aggression caused tremendous damage to the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip, as the occupation attacks focused on targeting the safe and defenseless citizens, including children, women and the elderly.

We have carried out more than 900 rescue, firefighting, ambulance and rapid intervention missions since the start of the aggression, despite the scarcity of resources and the scarcity of resources that have been denied entry for more than 15 years for this humanitarian and service apparatus.

After three wars that destroyed all the components and capabilities of the device, we were left with nothing but dilapidated vehicles, and outdated equipment that does not rise to the level of the event, and does not meet the speed of response to major accidents.

We demand the provision of the necessary equipment for the work of the civil defense system, so that we can seriously face the dangers that seriously threaten the lives of citizens and the local community in light of the continuous Israeli aggression.

We turn to the brothers in Egypt, Qatar and Jordan, and the rest of the Arab and Islamic capitals, with the need for urgent support for this service and humanitarian apparatus with vehicles and crews, especially rescue, firefighting and ambulance services.

We call on human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip and outside it to put pressure on the occupation in order to allow the entry of all the equipment and logistical and technical capabilities that the device needs.
