The Fishermen’s Committees of the Workers ’Unity Bloc in the northern Gaza Strip governorate, today, Saturday, organized a public stand on the beach of Jabalia Sea - the Sudania Junction in the northern Gaza Strip, in support and support for fishermen in the face of Israeli attacks and demands for freedom of fishing.

Many fishermen and their supporters, representatives of the fishermen´s committees and national forces attended the stand.

The fisherman, Muhammad Abu Warda, the official of the Fishermen´s Committees in the Labor Unity Bloc in the North Governorate, said in a speech, that we stand today with the Palestinian fishermen to express our condemnation and rejection of all the crimes practiced by the Israeli occupation freedom against the fishermen in the open sea of ​​Gaza, arresting them and firing at them with the aim of killing, wounding and disrupting them Their boats and stop their livelihood.

Abu Warda called on the United Nations to protect fishermen from the aggression and brutality of the Israeli occupation, and to allow their freedom to fish without harassment, calling on all parties sponsoring measures to break the siege on the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2014, to put pressure on the occupation to put an end to Israeli measures and crimes against fishermen, and to increase the area of ​​fishing. And the introduction of materials needed for fishing and repair of their fishing boats.

Abu Warda called on the Palestinian Authority to complete a comprehensive national plan that provides the foundations for steadfastness to workers by playing an active and supportive role for trade unions, federations and civil society institutions to find realistic national solutions that help workers reduce unemployment and poverty rates, create job opportunities with transparency for the unemployed, encourage the national economy, and open small projects.

He called on the Ministry of Agriculture in Gaza to support fishermen by reducing the prices of fuel for their boats, materials for fishing, and stopping taxes and restrictions imposed on them.
