The United States ambassador to Tel Aviv, David Friedman, said that US president Donald Trump will not retreat from the decision to recognize occupied Jerusalem as the capital of the "State of Israel" and that he/she "cannot imagine returning the Golan Heights to Syria."
"I do not believe that any future US administration, regardless of the identity of the party it will take, will be submitted to the revocation of the Tarombe confession, since in such a case it will have to come to the conclusion that Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel," Friedman said in an interview with the Hebrew newspaper "Yisrael Hume" on Thursday. Which would provoke more controversy than what he did. "
On the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, the US ambassador said, "Personally, I cannot imagine a situation in which the Golan Heights are not part of Israel forever."
He said the return of the Golan to Syria would "put Israel in a major security impasse," noting that the US administration led by Donald Treb might consider future recognition of the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.
In December, the United States recognized the occupied city of Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli occupation, in which the country´s embassy was transferred to it, which happened on the eve of the anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba this year (14 May 2018).
