France fined Google a large amount for its advertising policy

The competition watchdog in France decided to fine Google, with 150 million euros, after it was considered violating the laws of advertising competition.

The commission noted that the fine decision came after lengthy investigations that showed that "Google misused its power in the market by changing the terms of use and laws according to its desire, and lacked objectivity in defining the rules on Google Ad, and applied vague rules related to advertising affairs."

For her part, Isabelle de Silvia, President of the Competition Authority in France, said: "The way the laws are applied has given Google strength against some small companies, and Google is responsible for providing fair access to Google Ads as it has a market share of about 90% in the Internet search business.

It is worth noting that the competition watchdog in France had started its investigations into Google´s activities on the Internet after a French company, Gibmedia, filed a complaint accusing Google of suspending its account in Google Ads without notice.
