Today, Wednesday, France called on the Israeli authorities not to implement its decision to build new settlement units in the city of Jerusalem.
In a statement issued by its General Consulate in Jerusalem, France condemned the recent Israeli decisions to build more than 2,500 new housing units in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and about 1,300 other housing units in the settlement of "Givat Hamatos" in East Jerusalem.
And it called on the Israeli and Palestinian parties to refrain from taking any unilateral measure that would undermine the two-state solution based on international law and agreed standards.
