The Israeli Ministry of Health recorded a significant increase in the number of coronavirus infections, in light of the spread of the Indian boom in recent days.
According to the Yedioth Ahronoth website, for the third consecutive day, more than 100 new cases of the virus were diagnosed.
According to the ministry, 138 injuries were diagnosed during the past 24 hours, after 42,993 tests were conducted.
The cumulative number of injuries reached 840,307, while the active cases amounted to 680, of whom 26 are in serious condition, and 18 are connected to artificial respirators.
The “Benjamina” area near Haifa was classified as a red area, as the first area to be classified in that way since the last wave ended months ago.
