The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee Secretary Saeb Erekat called on the United Nations to support the efforts of President Mahmoud Abbas to hold general elections in the occupied Palestinian state (West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip).
This came during a meeting, on Monday, in his office, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rose Marie DiCarlo, and the United Nations Coordinator for the peace process Nikolai Miladinov.
Erekat stressed the importance of the whole world standing against Netanyahu´s intentions to annex the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Jordan Valley, to Israeli sovereignty.
