Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and his US counterpart Mike Pompeo discussed the situation in the Gulf and Libya.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Advisor Ahmed Hafez, said Tuesday that the two ministers discussed ways to boost Egyptian-US bilateral relations and strengthen joint cooperation at all levels during the coming period.
He added that the two ministers discussed the latest developments in the region, especially the situation in Libya and the Gulf region.
The two ministers agreed to continue consultation during the next phase and coordination on various topics of mutual concern and regional issues of common concern.
It is noteworthy that the Gulf region is experiencing tension because of the escalation between Iran and the United States, and Libya is witnessing an armed conflict between the forces of the so-called Libyan National Army and the government supported by the International Accord.
