Human rights organizations monitored the detention of 569 Palestinians during February, including 78 children and 13 women.
According to a joint report on Wednesday, 229 cases of arrests were in occupied Jerusalem, 73 from Ramallah and al-Bireh, 60 in Hebron and 54 from Jenin. The statement added that the occupation arrested 44 citizens from Bethlehem, 38 from Nablus, and from Tulkarm 15 Palestinians, like in Qalqiliya, in addition to 9 from Tubas, five from Salfit and ten from Jericho. With regard to Israeli detentions in the Gaza Strip, 17 Palestinian civilians have been injured. It added that the occupation forces arrested 170 Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem (most of whom were released on condition) against the backdrop of the opening of the Bab al-Rahma chapel between February 20 and 28. The occupation issued more than 130 deportation orders from the Al-Aqsa Mosque against Jerusalemites, including religious figures, with periods ranging from days to six months. Palestinian institutions said that "the number of prisoners in the prisons of the occupation, has reached the end of February, about 5700, including 48 women, 230 children The number of administrative detainees to 500." In February, the Israeli authorities issued 87 administrative detention orders against prisoners, including 37 new orders. It should be noted that the institutions that completed the human rights report were: the Palestinian Prisoners Club (semi-governmental), Al-Dameer Association for Prisoners´ Welfare and Human Rights (non-governmental), and the Committee for the Affairs of Detainees and Liberators (PLO).
