Committee calls on the United Nations to oblige the occupation to stop targeting demonstrators

The Legal Committee of the High National Committee for the Marches of Return and Breaking the Siege on Saturday evening called on the United Nations and all parties to the Geneva Convention to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities by obliging the occupation to stop targeting demonstrators and protecting Palestinian civilians.

In a statement, the committee condemned the continued occupation by using excessive force against peaceful demonstrators participating in the marches of return and breaking the siege.

It accused the occupation of deliberately targeting bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters.

It called on the international community to work for the accountability and boycott of the occupying power, and demanding an end to Israeli war crimes and lifting the siege on the Strip.

On Friday, a Palestinian youth in his twenties died, and dozens were injured as a result of the Israeli aggression on the weekly marches.
